The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has revealed a substantial achievement in the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) initiative, noting that more than 1.37 million new voters have been incorporated into the electoral roll since commencement on March 30, 2026.

According to the most recent report, the Commission documented an additional 495,429 voter registrations since April 9, together with 92,602 constituency transfers and 1,969 personal detail modifications.

A significant portion of these new registrants consist of young, first-time voters, indicating a revitalized dedication to Kenya’s democratic progress.

From the vibrant city centers of Nairobi to the remote settlements in Kwale, even individuals above 80 years of age have actively participated in the registration process. “Kenya is prepared,” affirmed the Commission, stating:
“To all who have enrolled in the Register this week: You are no longer bystanders; you have become the shapers of Kenya’s destiny… true patriots.”

With merely 11 days left before the conclusion of ECVR on April 28, 2026, IEBC is calling upon all qualified Kenyan citizens to take advantage of this opportunity.

“One who neglects or declines to cast a ballot forfeits their right to question the election results,” the Commission reminded the populace, highlighting that fortifying democracy represents a collective national duty.

Notably, Kenyans are not required to return to their home constituencies for registration purposes.
“Except for registration kits available at constituency offices, all other kits are accessible to Kenyans for registration in their preferred electoral regions.”

The Commission once again emphasized its commitment to openness and integrity by extending registration services to the Ward level. Current voters are advised to verify their information through the online portal.
