Nandi County, Kenya – The Nandi County Government has signed an action plan with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to strengthen corruption prevention within the county executive and assembly.

The initiative, launched during International Anti-Corruption Day at Kipchoge Stadium in Kapsabet, aims to enhance institutional capacity by reviewing policies, practices, and procedures. EACC Commissioner Sophia Mghoi highlighted the commission’s efforts in system reviews, risk assessments, asset recovery, and curbing misuse of resources.

Governor Stephen Sang affirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling corruption, noting ongoing investigations and court cases. Commissioner Mghoi also urged residents to avoid corrupt practices, hold public officials accountable, and report unethical conduct.

The 2018 National Ethics and Corruption Survey identified corruption as the top national challenge at 49.4%, with bribery being the most prevalent unethical practice. Public services most vulnerable to corruption include tenders, passports, power connections, and employment services.
