A recent survey indicates that Kenya is experiencing a significant increase in the adoption of digital technologies across various sectors, reflecting the country’s growing commitment to digital transformation. Businesses, government agencies, and startups are increasingly implementing tools such as artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and automation to improve efficiency, optimize operations, and enhance service delivery. Key sectors driving adoption include healthcare, agriculture, finance, and public administration, demonstrating the wide-reaching impact of digital transformation on Kenya’s economy and society.
The survey attributes this growth to supportive government policies and programs, including the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy launched on 27 March 2025, which provides a roadmap for AI integration, workforce development, and ethical governance, and the Kenya AI Skilling Alliance (KAISA) launched on 29 October 2025, which focuses on skills training, mentorship, and innovation support. Pilot projects highlighted in the survey include AI-powered health diagnostics, predictive crop monitoring, and automated financial solutions, showing how digital technologies are being applied to address both urban and rural challenges while fostering entrepreneurship.
Experts interpreting the survey emphasize that while adoption is rising, continued progress will require attention to data privacy, cybersecurity, and inclusive access to technology. Investments in training, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks are seen as critical for sustaining momentum. Looking ahead, the survey predicts that Kenya’s accelerating digital transformation will boost innovation, create job opportunities, improve public service delivery, and strengthen the country’s position as a leading technology hub in Africa.
