Police Crack Down on Illicit Brews in Kisii, Arrest Four Suspects
Police in Kisii County intensified their crackdown on illegal alcohol with a major raid in the Kiogoro area, resulting in the arrest of four suspects involved in the manufacture and distribution of illicit brews. The operation, led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Kiogoro Police Station, saw the destruction of approximately 5,000 litres of kangara, a key ingredient in illegal alcohol production, along with several brewing apparatuses.
The suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be arraigned in court. Authorities urged residents to report suspicious brewing activities as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate illicit alcohol in the region. The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to dismantle illegal alcohol trade due to its devastating impact on communities and individuals.
