The Social Health Authority (SHA) has published an initial roster of nine international healthcare facilities where Kenyans can obtain specialized care with financial support of up to Sh500,000 annually.
Chief Executive Officer Dr Mercy Mwangangi indicated that this compilation will be expanded continuously. She explained that these institutions were chosen following comprehensive evaluations conducted by regulatory bodies, Kenyan diplomatic missions overseas, and the hospitals themselves.
Nevertheless, she emphasized that this list remains non-exhaustive. “The arrangement of partnerships is ongoing; any healthcare provider satisfying the criteria may apply and be incorporated,” she stated. She pointed out that SHA has intentionally maintained an open framework to increase choices for patients progressively.
