Kimani, Sirat Triumph at NCBA Golf Series Limuru Leg

Francis Kimani and Jackie Sirat claimed top honors at the Limuru Country Club leg of the NCBA Golf Series on Saturday, as golfers intensified their quest to secure spots in the Grand Finale scheduled for November at Karen Country Club.

The competition drew 249 golfers from Limuru and various clubs nationwide, establishing it as one of the most fiercely contested and eagerly awaited tournaments in the series.

With a handicap of one, Francis Kimani demonstrated exceptional skill on the demanding Limuru layout, posting a remarkable 72 gross score to secure the Overall Men’s Champion title.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to emerge victorious in such a high-caliber field. Limuru presents a formidable challenge, so maintaining focus and consistency throughout my round was crucial. I’m pleased with my performance and thrilled to have earned qualification for the Grand Finale,” expressed Kimani.

In the women’s division, Jackie Sirat, competing with an 11 handicap, achieved 90 gross to claim the Overall Women’s Winner title.

“The level of competition today was excellent, and the course condition was superb. I’m very satisfied with my showing and grateful for the chance to participate in the NCBA Golf Series. Securing a place in the Grand Finale is truly exciting, and I’m eager for the upcoming challenges,” Sirat stated following her triumph.

Joseph Ikanyi, with a two handicap, finished as the Men’s Runner-Up after recording 74 gross, while Julius Ngonga secured third place with 78 gross. JN Kihanya rounded out the top four with 80 gross.

In the junior division, Hakeem Mutungi stood out with an impressive 81 gross score to clinch victory, showcasing the increasing prominence of junior golf within the series.

K Mukuria captured the Division Two Men’s title with an outstanding 39 points, while Patricia Naina claimed the ladies’ division with 33 points. In Division Three, Samuel Gitau, competing with a 50 handicap, earned top honors with 39 points.

During the awards ceremony, NCBA Limuru Branch Manager James Maina lauded the intense competition and reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to expanding golf throughout the nation.

“The NCBA Golf Series continues to gain momentum, and today’s participation and quality of competition at Limuru Country Club demonstrate this growth. Beyond the sport itself, this series fosters community connections, builds relationships, and creates opportunities for players at all levels,” he remarked.

The Limuru installment has propelled the 2026 NCBA Golf Series forward, which will continue to visit clubs across the country while developing talent and enhancing the community spirit through sports.
