Huduma Kenya has launched new media services across all its centers nationwide, aiming to bring government services closer to citizens.
In a notice released on Monday, May 11, the agency announced the implementation of advertising and announcement services through the government-supported media station, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).
This rollout enables citizens to place funeral announcements, purchase media advertising space, and submit promotional or community messages without physically visiting KBC offices.
“Kenyans can now access KBC services at selected Huduma Centers, making it easier to place funeral announcements and buy media space for adverts, promos, and community messages without traveling far,” the agency stated in a notice.
According to Huduma Kenya, the service introduced at a Makadara Huduma Center in Nairobi represents a new phase in expanding the Huduma Kenya one-stop shop model, which seeks to consolidate essential government services under one roof.
The agency noted that bringing these new services to its centers is part of an initiative to decentralize services and make both public and state-linked commercial services more accessible to citizens nationwide.
Under the new arrangement, citizens can handle airtime for announcements, process advertising requests, and access other KBC-related services at designated service points.
However, the agency disclosed that these services are currently available only at selected Huduma centers before being expanded to all centers throughout the country.
The initiative aligns with plans to transform Huduma Kenya into a statutory authority under the One-Stop Shop (OSS) policy.
Central to this plan is addressing longstanding challenges such as the lack of a strong legal foundation and inconsistent service standards.
It also aims to replace Huduma Kenya’s status as a program under the Ministry of Public Service with a permanent entity, establishing the Huduma Kenya agency.
The policy also emphasizes end-to-end digitization, targeting full automation of government back-end systems while consolidating all government services for Kenyans’ convenience.
