Kebaso says Linda Mwananchi not ready to lead

Political activist and Inject Party leader Morara Kebaso has faulted the Linda Mwananchi movement, arguing that it is still not prepared to offer the leadership and alternative vision Kenya requires before the 2027 general election.

Kebaso said that although the movement has recently gathered pace under Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, it lacks a clear ideological direction that can transform the country.

His comments come as Linda Mwananchi continues to expand nationwide, drawing in prominent political figures and presenting itself as a key opposition force.

Kebaso insisted that while many Kenyans are frustrated with the current political establishment, replacing one political outfit with another without a clear vision will not address the country’s challenges.

He said Kenya needs fresh leadership built on integrity, accountability and new ideas, rather than the return of familiar political actors.

He called on young leaders to unite and build a new political direction beyond traditional structures. In an earlier statement, Kebaso said: “Let all young leaders come together and chart a new path for Kenya. We will not recycle the problem to solve the problem.”

The remarks are expected to deepen discussions on the future of the opposition as Linda Mwananchi keeps drawing support from leaders across the political divide.

The movement has recently brought in figures including former Law Society of Kenya president Faith Odhiambo and former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter, with leaders saying it is steadily becoming a national political force.

Linda Mwananchi leaders have continued to express confidence in its expansion. Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi recently said the movement would soon trigger a political “earthquake” as more leaders from different regions join its ranks.
