Turkana County hosted the Desert Drum & Run Retreat for national teams on June 15, 2025—athletes ran in sync with traditional *ng’oma* drumming, building rhythm, unity, and breath control. The drum is the first coach—teaching pace before GPS, said participant Emmanuel Wanyonyi. JKUAT monitored team cohesion scores: 76% improvement. Plans for quarterly retreats are confirmed.
