Kenya’s Ministry of Health has officially launched a nationwide immunization campaign targeting Measles‑Rubella (MR) and Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV).The 10‑day drive, held from 5th to 14th July 2025, aims to reach children aged 9 months to 59 months for MR and 9 months to 14 years for TCV.
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale emphasized that both vaccines are safe, free, and critical for preventing deadly diseases. He described the campaign as a key step in Kenya’s Big Catch-Up effort to immunize children who missed routine vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ministry has set an ambitious target: vaccinate 3.9 million children nationwide. To support the campaign, the government rolled out 2,000 new cold-chain units to ensure vaccines remain potent, especially in remote areas. Health officials are also urging parents, caregivers, and community leaders to participate fully and spread accurate information about the drive.
