Taita Taveta County hosted the Tsavo Wildlife Marathon on July 27, 2025—run entirely inside Tsavo West National Park, with rhino and elephant sightings along the route. Proceeds funded 10 new KWS sniffer dogs. Every stride protects a species, said winner David Lekuta (2:11:48). Over 1,200 runners joined, with strict eco-rules (no plastic, noise limits near wildlife). KWS and WWF supported the event. A documentary, *Running with Giants*, is in post-production. The race is now annual.
