Khalif Kairo Warns Against Kenyan Politics: So Murky
Nairobi — Entrepreneur and car dealer Khalif Kairo, also known as Joseph Kairo Wambui, has expressed deep regret over his brief involvement in Kenyan politics. Speaking in a livestream with social media personality Andrew Kibe, Kairo described the political landscape as complicated and disillusioning, advising business owners to stay away from it.
Kairo noted that while newcomers often enter politics with the goal of bringing positive change, the electorate frequently sides with established politicians, leaving reformists exposed and unsupported. He reflected on his participation in the 2024 anti-Finance Bill protests and advocacy against corruption but acknowledged that his political ambitions led to legal challenges and court battles that also affected his business.
He further recounted his experience in jail following a re-arrest in March, describing it as a tough lesson. Kairo emphasized that personal focus and caution are essential, advising entrepreneurs to concentrate on rebuilding their lives and keeping personal matters private.
