During the swearing-in ceremony at the Governor’s Boardroom, Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo instructed the new board officials to reject corruption, particularly during recruitment processes.
The governor cautioned against unethical practices that have previously compromised public service recruitment in Nyamira County.
“The most crucial aspect is integrity. Serve with unwavering integrity,” Nyaribo stated.
He referenced previous instances where board members allegedly demanded bribes from job seekers, advising the new members to avoid such temptations.
“There are documented cases of former board members extracting money from impoverished families in exchange for employment positions. I trust you will not succumb to such pressures,” he emphasized.
The governor voiced his confidence in the newly formed team, characterizing them as qualified professionals capable of providing ethical and efficient public service.
“This team appears highly competent. You are prepared to serve as all of you are professionals,” he noted.
Earlier, Nyamira County Attorney Erastus Orina commended the board’s composition, describing it as a blend of emerging leaders and seasoned professionals.
He pointed out that the Secretary nominee is only 32 years old, demonstrating the county’s dedication to offering opportunities to young professionals.
“The board features an appropriate combination of young individuals and experienced professionals,” Orina stated.
The induction of board members and the Chief Executive Officer represents a significant advancement in fortifying Nyamira County’s public service framework.
Local authorities expressed hope that the new leadership will improve transparency, accountability, and efficient human resource management for the county’s residents.
