Odemba releases Harambee Starlets provisional squad for Zambia Four Nations

Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba has announced a 24-player preliminary roster for the upcoming Four Nations Tournament scheduled in Zambia during June 2026.
The selection maintains the majority of athletes who participated in the recent FIFA Series – Women held in Nairobi, with Emily Morang’a and Vivian Shiyonzo rejoining the national team.
The squad’s training camp is scheduled to commence on Friday, May 29, 2026, with the team departing for Zambia on June 3, 2026.
Harambee Starlets will commence their campaign against Zimbabwe on June 6, followed by a match against the host nation Zambia on June 9, 2026.
This competition offers the coaching staff an additional chance to evaluate the squad against strong opponents as they prepare for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The Zambia Four Nations Tournament, involving Zambia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Burkina Faso, serves as part of Harambee Starlets’ preparation for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Kenya will participate in the continental competition for the second time, a decade after their initial appearance in the 2016 edition.
Coach Odemba expressed that the tournament provides another significant evaluation as Harambee Starlets pursue their objectives with the aim of making a substantial impact at WAFCON 2026.
“These games will present us with further opportunities to develop the squad and introduce players to high-level international football before WAFCON.
Our goal is to reach the tournament fully prepared to perform at the elite level. We aim to test our capabilities, secure a semi-final position, and qualify for the World Cup,” she mentioned.
