Murkomen Implements Major Reshuffle in Administrative Ranks

The Ministry of Interior and National Administration has unveiled significant personnel adjustments among Regional and County Commissioners, intended to optimize administrative functions and improve service delivery nationwide. Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen explained that the reorganization aims to match officers’ capabilities and backgrounds with current administrative and security demands. Regional Commissioner Rhoda Nyaboke Onyancha relocates from Coast Province to Nairobi, whereas Paul Rotich transitions from Eastern to Coast. Samson Macharia Irungu and Flora Nkatha Mworoorah are reassigned from Western and Nyanza regions respectively to serve at the Office of the President. Promotional appointments see Jacob O. Muganda overseeing the Eastern region, Onesmus Musyoki Kyatha leading Nyanza, and Allan Machari taking responsibility for Western. Joshua Muriungi Nkanatha, John Odhiambo Otieno, and Dr. Abdi Mohammed Hassan will continue serving in their current positions of Central, North Eastern, and Rift Valley regions respectively. County Commissioner positions also experience changes, with Joseph Kibet Boen transferring from Kiambu to Kilifi, Stephen Kutwa Sangolo moving from Baringo to Lamu, and Jeremiah Mwai Gicheru relocating from Kericho to Tana River. Additional transfers include John Kiprotich Cheruiyot (Samburu to Meru), Mwachaunga Mohamed (Kisii to Machakos), and Shufaa Omar Mwijuma (Nyamira to Kirinyaga). Multiple officials have been promoted from sub-county roles to county-level posts, such as Jackson Ngelai Olechuta to Garissa and George Matundura to Kiambu. The Cabinet Secretary stressed that these modifications are effective immediately, describing them as continuous measures to enhance coordination and responsiveness within the national government.
