Lari MP Mburu Kahangara has cautioned constituents against being misled by opposition forces. He noted that with the 2027 general election approaching, many politicians will visit promising various benefits. He mentioned that some politicians will use their names to gain attention and seek support, warning them to be vigilant as such tactics might involve propaganda. Kahangara encouraged support for the current administration and urged alignment with it to ensure election of ruling party leaders. ‘Some politicians might abandon us for the opposition. Now is the time for vigilance. Electing ruling party leaders will make securing development funding easier,’ he stated. He made these remarks during a bursary distribution event at Kimende secondary school. Accompanying him were Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a, his CDF committee, national government administration officials, and parents. The legislator asked locals to consider supporting him, citing his consistent focus on development since his election. ‘You entrusted me with this position. I have actively lobbied for projects, and today we can highlight numerous initiatives the current government has implemented for us. We should embrace these achievements,’ he explained. He cited examples including the tarmacking of Mau Mau Road, completion of Lari Technical and Training College, enhanced security through additional administrative offices, and implementation of the Escarpment Belt irrigation water project. Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a noted her two-term service in Thika and announced her candidacy for Kiambu governor. She referenced a biblical teaching about writing one’s vision boldly for all to see, stating she had done exactly that. She requested support for her gubernatorial bid and encouraged locals to include her in their events and activities. She called on residents to pray for the nation, its leaders, and themselves.
