The National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) Board has announced a leadership transition with the departure of Chief Executive Officer Yusuf Mbuno, who has led the organization since September 2011.
In a statement released Friday in Nairobi, the Board characterized the move as a “transition in executive leadership,” concluding a period marked by substantial institutional advancement and transformation.
“Throughout his leadership, Mr. Mbuno delivered strategic direction, supervision, and administration, steering the Fund through a time of remarkable organizational expansion and modernization,” the statement noted.
The Board emphasized Mbuno’s contribution to enhancing accountability within constituencies, highlighting that he “implemented comprehensive accountability and performance frameworks… substantially improving the Fund’s operational effectiveness.”
His administration, according to the Board, “increased openness and boosted the successful implementation of local development initiatives.”
While awaiting a permanent CEO appointment, the Board has designated Benjamin Magut as Interim Chief Executive Officer to maintain stability.
“While the organization awaits the naming of a permanent Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Benjamin Magut has taken on the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer to preserve leadership continuity and seamless functioning,” the statement mentioned.
Magut possesses expertise in governmental administration and legislative affairs, having previously worked with the NG-CDF Board and in the Parliament.
The Board voiced confidence in his guidance, remarking that leadership “confirmed trust in Mr. Magut’s management as the Fund persists in promoting fair and enduring development throughout all constituencies.”
Simultaneously, the Board acknowledged Mbuno’s extensive service, expressing gratitude for “his dedication and influence on the Fund’s progression.”
The change occurs as the NG-CDF continues to be a key player in funding community-level development projects across Kenya, especially in educational facilities, infrastructure, and local advancement programs.”
