President William Ruto has joined political leaders from various factions in expressing grief over the passing of Ol Kalou MP David Njuguna Kiaraho, who died on Sunday morning while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.

In his statement of sympathy, Ruto conveyed profound sadness at the demise of the three-time elected representative, characterizing him as a devoted and forward-thinking leader whose contributions had a significant influence on his constituents and the country as a whole.

“Our sympathies and prayers go out to his family, associates, and the residents of Ol Kalou during this challenging time,” Ruto stated.

The President honored Kiaraho as an unassuming and unwavering leader who prioritized the welfare of his people above partisan interests.

“He was an unassuming, unwavering, and forward-thinking leader whose dedication to serving his constituents established him as a cornerstone of his community. He will be recognized for his remarkable contributions to education and for his exceptional service in the National Assembly,” he continued.

Ruto further emphasized that Kiaraho’s life and leadership should serve as a model for present and upcoming leaders, encouraging them to emphasize service delivery over political conflicts.

“His life serves as motivation for leaders today to transcend political divisions and concentrate on service and the fundamental issues that affect the populace. May his ‘Kazi Kwanza, Siasa Baadaye’ legacy persist,” he stated.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi also offered his respects, portraying the late MP as an industrious public official who executed his responsibilities with meticulousness and a high sense of accountability.

“Kenya has lost an industrious public servant. His contributions to public service and the progress of Ol Kalou will be fondly remembered with appreciation and gratitude,” Mudavadi remarked.

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula shared similar views, commending Kiaraho’s dedication to parliamentary duties and his involvement in important committees.

“Until his unfortunate death, the late Hon Kiaraho served the National Assembly with diligence and dedication as a member of the Departmental Committee on Transport and Infrastructure and the Procedure and House Rules Committee,” Wetang’ula noted.

Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano characterized the late representative as a leader whose life was characterized by selflessness, dedication, and commitment to humanity.

“Nyandarua and Kenya have lost an exceptional leader, a man whose life was defined by selflessness, dedication and commitment to humanity. My sincere sympathies to the family, friends, and the good people of Ol Kalou,” she said, noting that Kiaraho had collaborated closely with regional leaders to promote development in Nyandarua County.

Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria reflected on his professional relationship with Kiaraho in Parliament, describing him as a cooperative and courteous colleague.

“Having served with him in the 11th and 12th Parliaments and in the Transport, Infrastructure, Public Works and Housing Committee, I appreciated working with a very cooperative and courteous colleague,” Kuria shared.

Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi also expressed sorrow for the legislator, portraying him as a friend and devoted public servant.

“He will be remembered for his commitment to public service and contributions to our collaborative efforts in Parliament. May he rest in peace,” Sudi said.
