Azeli and Amwari Set for WRC Safari Rally with White Cap Support

Kenyan rally drivers Ishmael Azeli and Issa Amwari are preparing to compete against the world’s best at the 2026 WRC Safari Rally Championship, which begins today in Naivasha and continues through March 15.
The two drivers will participate in the WRC2 and Africa Rally Championship categories, representing Kenya in one of the most demanding motorsport events on home soil.
Their efforts have received significant support from Kenya Breweries Limited’s White Cap brand, which is sponsoring their preparations and participation in the event.
This backing is part of White Cap’s KES 45 million investment in this year’s rally, reinforcing its position as the Official Responsible Drinking Partner of the WRC Safari Rally.
Off the track, Azeli and Amwari will work with White Cap to promote responsible drinking practices and rally culture.
Followers can expect exclusive content showing training routines, vehicle preparation, and route analysisproviding insight into the challenging world of rally racing.
Azeli, accompanied by navigator John Ngugi, will introduce a Subaru WRX NR4, an upgrade from last year’s Mitsubishi Evo 9.
“We have been diligently preparing the new vehicle for Naivasha’s challenging conditions. White Cap’s support is crucialit enables us to concentrate on performance,” he stated.
Amwari, driving a Škoda Fabia R5 with navigator Dennis Mwenda, shared similar views.
“The Safari Rally tests competitors relentlessly. Conditions can shift quickly, making preparation essential. White Cap’s backing provides us with the assurance to compete and represent Kenya with pride,” he remarked.
The Safari Rally, known for its demanding combination of rocky terrain, deep sand, and unpredictable weather, stands as the ultimate challenge for endurance and skill.
For Kenyan supporters, attention will focus on Azeli and Amwari as they strive for strong results against a formidable international field.
Leading the Rally1 category, Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT features Sébastien Ogier, Elfyn Evans, and Oliver Solberg.
Hyundai presents Thierry Neuville and Esapekka Lappi, while M-Sport Ford showcases Irish talents Joshua McErlean and Jon Armstrong.
Rediet Yigezu, KBL’s Senior Brand Manager, explained that the partnership demonstrates White Cap’s dedication to local motorsport.
