Checking NSSF Contributions via Mobile

by KenyaPolls

As National Social Security Fund (NSSF) deductions reduce monthly wages, numerous Kenyan workers are showing growing interest in monitoring precisely how much is being contributed on their behalf and if it is being properly deposited into the fund.

NSSF enables members to view their personal statements and contribution history through their mobile devices, removing the necessity of traveling to its offices or waiting in long lines.

Members can utilize platforms such as USSD *303# and the WhatsApp chatbot accessible at 0704 303 303 to retrieve their statements and access additional NSSF services.

To check financial statements via USSD, dial *303# once. This displays a welcome menu with options including ‘Member Service’ (option 1), ‘Partnerships’ (option 2), ‘Tenants Purchase Scheme’ (option 3), ‘Validate Compliance Certificate’ (option 4), and ‘Check Your NSSF Number’ (option 5).

Select option one, ‘Member Services’, then enter your ID number, followed by your PIN. The subsequent menu offers four choices: My Account Information, Contribution Information, Payments, and Benefit Inquiry.

Choose option 2, ‘Contribution Information’, to access the provisional contribution summary and detailed contribution statements.

Additional services available through the USSD code include checking your NSSF number, validating compliance certificates, the Tenant Purchase Scheme, contribution details, payment information, and benefit enquiries.

With the NSSF WhatsApp chatbot, members can begin a conversation by typing “Hi”, granting access to the same services available through the USSD code. The statement retrieval process on this platform closely resembles the USSD method.

Kenyans may also request a complete copy of their financial statements by sending an email to NSSF’s designated address.

Kenyans can review NSSF annual financial statements by frequently visiting the NSSF website, where these documents are periodically updated.

Social media users expressed concerns, suggesting the fund lacked convenient methods for members to monitor financial statements and active investment projects. The fund refuted these claims, confirming its digital platforms are fully functional.

“Members can verify their NSSF statements through multiple accessible channels without office visits: dial *303# on mobile devices, use the WhatsApp chatbot at 0704 303 303, or email NSSF to request a complete statement,” the fund confirmed on Thursday, January 29.

Last week, NSSF disclosed that members’ contributions reached Ksh83.97 billion by June 2025, representing a 35 percent rise from Ksh62.29 billion in the prior year.

According to a gazette notice from January 23, the fund credits this growth to an 8 percent increase in active members, totaling 3.6 million contributors compared to 3.3 million registered the previous year.

By June 2025, the fund’s total member assets grew from Ksh400 billion in the previous year to Ksh572 billion.

Additionally, investments increased by 43 percent to Ksh558 billion in 2025, up from Ksh389 billion in 2024, as reported by NSSF.

The administration of President William Ruto has established a goal of Ksh1 trillion in assets for NSSF by 2027.
