Kenyan middle-distance running icon Faith Kipyegon etched her name into the history books at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, by winning a sensational double gold in the women’s 1500m and 5000m. Having already dominated the 1500m for years, Kipyegon decided to step up to the longer distance, a move that paid off spectacularly. In the 1500m final, she delivered a masterclass in tactical racing, kicking with 200 meters to go to win comfortably. Days later, she showcased her incredible versatility and endurance by out-sprinting a world-class field to claim the 5000m title, becoming the first woman in championship history to win both events.
