Kenya’s network of 47 County Youth Digital Hubs created 15,000 digital jobs in 2023 through freelancing, content creation, and app development. Supported by the Ministry of ICT and Ajira Digital, the hubs trained 120,000 youth in graphic design, coding, and digital marketing. Over 40,000 earned income via platforms like Upwork and Fiverr, generating Ksh3.2 billion in exports. Nairobi, Kakamega, and Nakuru led in earnings. The 2024/25 budget allocates Ksh5 billion to upgrade infrastructure and provide startup grants. The program is a cornerstone of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, targeting 1 million digital jobs by 2027.
