Kenyan AgriTech startups raised $60 million in the first half of 2024, leading East Africa in agritech investment. Top deals include Apollo Agriculture ($20M for AI-driven credit), SunCulture ($15M for solar irrigation), and FarmDrive ($10M for livestock insurance). Investors include Acumen, IFAD, and British International Investment. The funds will scale solutions for 2 million smallholders in climate-smart farming, market access, and finance. The government’s AgriTech Innovation Fund and Konza AgriHub provide co-investment and incubation. With 70% of Kenyans in agriculture, AgriTech is seen as key to food security, export growth, and rural job creation under the Bottom-Up Agenda.
