The Ministry of Health has rolled out the Electronic Maternity Record System (EMRS) to all 47 counties in 2024, digitizing antenatal, delivery, and postnatal data. The platform, integrated with NHIF and the Digital Maternity Wallet, allows real-time monitoring of high-risk pregnancies. Health workers use tablets to update records, reducing errors and duplication. Over 500,000 women are already on the system, with alerts sent to nurses for missed appointments. Early results show 30% reduction in stillbirths in pilot counties. The system is backed by WHO and UNICEF and will link to immunization and nutrition programs by 2025.
