A Kenyan startup, SokaScore, is revolutionizing data collection for lower-division football with its automated video analysis platform. Using smartphone cameras placed on the sidelines, their software employs computer vision to track player movements, passes, shots, and possession stats without human input. The service, offered via subscription, provides clubs with professional-level performance reports. We are democratizing data. Now a Division Two team can access the analytics previously reserved for the top league, said founder Mark Otieno. Several National Super League clubs have already subscribed to the service.
