Kipchoge’s Training Data Informs Public Health App RunWell

by KenyaPolls

Leveraging anonymized and aggregated data from Eliud Kipchoge’s training camps, researchers at the University of Nairobi have co-developed RunWell, a public health mobile application. The app provides personalized, science-backed walking and running plans for sedentary Kenyans to combat lifestyle diseases. The principles of elite endurance—consistency, paced effort, recovery—are universal. We’ve adapted them for the general population, said lead researcher Dr. Stella Mwende. The app, backed by the Ministry of Health, will be promoted through public primary healthcare centers.
