Kenya’s goalball team—the *Silent Eagles*—secured Africa’s sole berth for the Paris 2024 Paralympics on November 28, 2024, by winning the African Qualifier in Tunis. The sport, played by blind athletes using a bell-equipped ball, saw Kenya dominate with a zone defense system developed in Nairobi. Captain David Omondi (totally blind since age 8) scored 24 goals in 5 games. We don’t need sight—we need sound and trust, he said. The team trained at the new adaptive sports center in Lang’ata, funded by KSh 30 million from NCIC. This is Kenya’s first Paralympic team sport qualification since 2000.
