Mombasa’s *Bahari Taekwondo Club* debuted Swahili Taekwondo on January 25, 2025—integrating *ngoma* drum rhythms into kyorugi (sparring) and poomsae (forms). Strikes and blocks sync to traditional beats like *Chakacha* and *Beni*, enhancing timing and cultural pride. Founder Master Salim Rajab trained under Korean masters but sought an African heartbeat in every kick. The style is now taught in 12 Coast schools. At the 2025 National Champs, Mombasa won 7 golds. WT is reviewing it for cultural demonstration status at the 2028 Olympics.
