The National Library and *Jalada Africa* held Kenya’s first Sports Haiku Contest on May 5, 2025—receiving 2,140 entries in English, Swahili, and Sheng. Winner (Swahili): * Miguu inapiga / barabara inajibu— / mwisho uliongozwa * (Feet strike the road / the road answers back— / the finish led you). Haiku is the sprint of poetry, said judge Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor. Anthology published; poems featured on KBC sports broadcasts. Annual contest confirmed.
