Governor Jonathan Bii’s administration has allocated over Sh2 billion for road infrastructure projects in the 2025/26 budget, one of the largest investments within the Sh10.1 billion county budget.
Roads Executive Abraham Serem highlighted the county government’s commitment to:
Fast-tracking road construction projects
Ensuring quality delivery by contractors
Completing projects within stipulated timelines
The county plans include:
Spot gravelling and compaction along Kapng’etuny–Saito–Kamwosor road
Grading and gravelling along Siliboi–Chepyemat road
Addressing residents’ infrastructure concerns, including improved drainage
To reduce construction costs by 50%, the county intends to establish an asphalt plant costing over Sh500 million to support local production of asphalt for roads and paved surfaces.
Governor Bii emphasized that good roads are a key development target, linking infrastructure to growth in sectors like agriculture and overall regional development.
