State Allocates KSh 702.7 B for Education in 2025/26 Budget, Boosts Teacher Funding

Nairobi — The 2025/26 national budget secures KSh 702.7 billion for the education sector, representing roughly 28 % of total government expenditure. Under the allocation, KSh 387.2 billion is earmarked for the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), marking a significant uplift from previous years. The funds will cover teacher salaries, intern recruitment, and capacity‑building — including training for Competency‑Based Education (CBE) implementation. Additional budget lines will support expansion of educational infrastructure, school capitation, and national examinations administration.
