Security has been significantly reinforced across Kwale County in response to emerging threats of kidnapping for ransom targeting businesspeople and residents. The County Security Committee announced the new measures after intelligence reports indicated that criminal gangs were planning abductions. The multi-agency security team has intensified both day and night patrols in urban centers, shopping areas, and along major highways to deter potential kidnappers and ensure rapid response to any incidents.
County Commissioner Gideon Othino stated that undercover officers have also been deployed to gather intelligence and infiltrate the networks believed to be behind the planned crimes. The security operation is focusing on identified hotspots and is working to disrupt the gangs before they can strike. Residents have been urged to be extra vigilant about their surroundings and to report any suspicious individuals or vehicles loitering in their neighborhoods.
