President William Ruto has stated that the United Democratic Alliance and Orange Democratic Movement coalition must achieve victory in the 2027 General Election with a lead of two to three million votes.
Addressing the UDA National Governing Council meeting on Monday, January 26, 2026, the President expressed certainty that his political coalition possessed the capabilities, tactics, and nationwide support necessary to secure a convincing triumph in the upcoming general elections.
Ruto informed party members that the Kenya Kwanza administration had absorbed important insights from the 2022 electoral contest, which he won by approximately 200,000 votes, highlighting that future governance required wider public backing to sustain the execution of their development plan.
The President vigorously defended the coalition, characterizing it as a vital measure for national unity and to terminate the tradition of marginalization that has historically characterized post-election periods.
“There is valid reason for us to unite our nation as one,” Ruto stated. “There is sufficient for every Kenyan. No one must lack for another to have,” he continued, stressing that governance should not function on principles of exclusion.
He praised ODM leaders participating in his administration, noting their contribution demonstrated political sophistication and a unified dedication to national advancement over partisan concerns.
According to Ruto, the UDA-ODM alliance is fundamental to advancing the transformation vision that the Kenya Kwanza government has persistently advocated since assuming power.
The President referenced what he characterized as the administration’s impressive accomplishments, noting the administration had established a compelling case to present to voters prior to the 2027 election.
He proceeded to specify key components of the government’s development strategy, such as increasing power generation, improving agricultural practices, and hastening infrastructure progress throughout the nation.
Ruto contended that Kenya Kwanza programs, including power generation, agricultural modernization, and infrastructure acceleration, constituted a logical and integrated approach that demanded political stability and a substantial electoral mandate to be completely realized in the coming years.
Nevertheless, he recognized that development progress alone would not ensure re-election, maintaining that a thoroughly synchronized political approach was crucial to activate voters and obtain an emphatic triumph.
The President concluded by directing UDA leaders to concentrate on solidarity, execution, and community involvement, declaring that a substantial success in 2027 would supply the coalition with the authorization required to enact its program without interference.
