Presidents William Ruto of Kenya and Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania have jointly commissioned the modernized Namanga One-Stop Border Post (OSBP). The facility, funded by trade development banks, is designed to drastically reduce cargo clearance times and boost trade between the two East African Community nations. The leaders emphasized the importance of easing non-tariff barriers and fostering regional integration. The event also signaled a warming of diplomatic relations between Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, which had experienced strains in recent years.
