Law enforcement authorities in Nairobi have apprehended two individuals linked to a robbery incident in South B. During the operation, officers seized a motorcycle and multiple stolen mobile devices.

The criminal act took place when a citizen was approached by two suspects on a motorcycle. The perpetrators stole a premium mobile phone and then tried to escape.

Police forces reacted promptly to an emergency call. “Patrol officers responded quickly, chased the suspects and managed to capture them,” stated the National Police Service (NPS).

Three mobile phones, among them the stolen device, were recovered along with the motorcycle reportedly utilized in the criminal activity.

The detained individuals are currently in custody and are scheduled to appear in court to confront the appropriate charges.

These arrests are part of an extensive initiative to combat organized criminal networks. In Kirinyaga County, law enforcement officials arrested three individuals during a synchronized nighttime operation on March 24, 2026.

The collaborative effort involved personnel from Ngong Police Station, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and Mwea–Makutano Police Post. The suspects were captured around 1:04 am in the Makutano–Ngomongo region following intelligence indicating they had concealed themselves. Authorities characterized the operation as “meticulous and intelligence-guided,” emphasizing its importance in disrupting criminal organizations.

As part of the Kirinyaga arrests, police recovered a Glock 17 pistol containing 11 rounds of ammunition. Investigators indicated that the weapon is likely to connect the suspects to a violent robbery reported in Ngong on March 12, 2025, where a victim was shot and sustained severe injuries.

A red motorcycle, reportedly used as an escape vehicle, was also confiscated for forensic examination. Attire suspected to have been worn during the robbery was recovered as part of the evidence collection.

Law enforcement officials stated they are broadening their investigation to ascertain if the suspects might be connected to other robberies both locally and in surrounding areas.

“The National Police Service persists in strengthening patrols and rapid response protocols to ensure public safety,” the NPS added, underlining its dedication to protecting residents and reducing criminal behavior.

These arrests coincide with intensified measures by law enforcement agencies to tackle violent robberies and organized crime. Authorities encourage citizens to report any suspicious activities immediately to help prevent additional occurrences.

As rapid response and intelligence-guided operations demonstrate effectiveness, police officials assert they maintain vigilance throughout Nairobi and adjacent counties, striving to reduce criminal activities and guarantee security for all inhabitants.
