Senator Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga is currently attending the 70th Session on the Status of Women (CSW70) in New York, demonstrating Kenya’s dedication to promoting gender equality and women’s leadership roles.

At a collaborative event organized by Gambia and Türkiye, Senator Okenyuri engaged in dialogues focused on enhancing inclusivity, supporting mentorship opportunities, and confronting harmful practices, particularly those amplified by technology across OIC member nations.

The gathering highlighted strategic approaches across sectors, cooperation between nations, and empowerment structures designed to guarantee that women not only hold influential roles but also actively participate in transforming social, technological, and institutional environments for a fairer future.

Following the event, Senator Okenyuri stated on social media, “Women should not just lead but be deeply involved in reshaping the systems that impact our communities.”

Before the UN commitments, she traveled to New Jersey to connect with associates, contemplating mutual principles of service and shared accountability while recognizing the ongoing influence of the Essy Okenyuri Nyaituga Foundation.
This journey underscored how the foundation motivates Kenyans abroad and strengthens community efforts that extend beyond physical borders.

The Kisii Press Club, which has regularly reported on local leaders’ input to both national and international conversations, observed that Senator Okenyuri’s involvement at CSW70 aligns with other recent activities, such as local mentorship initiatives and gender equality campaigns.
