ODM bags Migori Gubernatorial seat

ODM’s Dr. Ochilo Ayacko Wins Migori Gubernatorial Seat
Dr. Ochilo Ayacko has been officially declared the winner of the Migori County gubernatorial race, defeating eight competitors in a closely contested election.
Ayacko, representing the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) under the Azimo La Umoja One Kenya Alliance, garnered 175,226 votes, defeating his closest rival, John Pesa, who received 126,171 votes, marking a margin of 49,050 votes.
Prior to his gubernatorial win, Ayacko served as Migori Senator following a 2018 by-election after the passing of Ben Okello. He also represented Rongo Constituency in Parliament from 1997 to 2007.
In his acceptance speech, Ayacko pledged to reconcile with his political competitors to foster county growth, combat corruption, and enhance revenue collection.
