Nyeri Residents Assured of Their Safety and Security During Festive Season
The Nyeri County security team has assured residents of their safety and security throughout the festive season, outlining a comprehensive plan to maintain law and order. County Commissioner Pius Murugu stated that a multi-agency security operation is already in effect, with heightened patrols in towns, shopping centers, and major highways to prevent incidents of mugging, burglary, and traffic offenses that typically increase during this period.
The security plan includes the deployment of uniformed and plain-clothed officers in all major public spaces, including markets, bus parks, and worship centers. The police have also established dedicated traffic units to manage the anticipated influx of vehicles and pedestrians, aiming to reduce accidents and congestion. The commissioner urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere to traffic rules to ensure everyone’s safety.
Residents were encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or persons to the nearest police station or through provided hotlines. The security team expressed confidence in the measures put in place and pledged a swift response to any incidents. This proactive assurance aims to allow the people of Nyeri to celebrate the holidays in a peaceful and secure environment.
