Nyamira CC Guarantees Safety During Electioneering Period
The Nyamira County Commissioner, Erastus Mbui, has given a firm assurance of safety and security for all residents throughout the upcoming electioneering period. The Commissioner stated that a comprehensive security plan has been finalized to ensure that political activities, including campaigns and the voting process, are conducted peacefully and without any disruption. He warned that the government will not tolerate any form of violence, hate speech, or intimidation.
The security blueprint involves the deployment of additional police officers to hotspot areas and heightened patrols across the county. The National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) are also working closely with political candidates and their supporters to ensure they adhere to the electoral code of conduct. The Commissioner urged politicians to conduct issue-based campaigns and to avoid using inflammatory language that could incite their followers.
Residents have been encouraged to go about their political activities without fear and to report any instances of violence or coercion to the authorities. The Commissioner emphasized that the security apparatus is fully prepared to deal decisively with anyone attempting to disrupt the peace.
