Ndukuma Dam Restores Reliable Water Supply in Muvau/Kikumini

Location: Muvau Ward, Makueni County
Project: Rehabilitation of Ndukuma Dam (desilted in 2022/2023) by the Makueni County Dam Construction Unit, supported by the National Youth Service (NYS).

Impact on Residents:

Provides reliable and safer water access for communities in Mumbuni, Kwa Kathoka, Kaseve, Kwa Mulele, and Senda.

Reduces distance and effort in fetching water.

Improves hygiene and household water security.

Additional Benefits:

5,000 fingerlings stocked in the dam to support small-scale fishing, enhancing food security and livelihoods.

Plans underway to rehabilitate the water distribution network to serve 16 water points, expanding coverage across the ward.
