National Government projects to spur development in Nandi

Nandi County, Kenya – Governor Stephen Sang has praised the contribution of the National Government to development initiatives in Nandi, highlighting projects that aim to improve livelihoods and drive economic growth.

Key projects include:

Kapsabet Stadium – A state-of-the-art stadium under tendering, valued at Sh1.5–1.8 billion, expected to boost economic activity in Kapsabet town.

Road Infrastructure – Multiple roads are being constructed and upgraded by both the county and national governments.

Municipal Market Development – Plans are underway for a multimillion municipal market to enhance trade and commerce.

Governor Sang emphasized that the 2023–2027 County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) incorporates both county-led and national government projects to ensure coordinated development.

County Commissioner Caroline Nzwili Mueni highlighted strong cooperation between national and county governments, particularly in agriculture and health, and pledged support for the CIDP’s successful implementation.

The Governor also noted the upcoming Ward Development model, set to be rolled out in the next financial year, as a key strategy for economic transformation in Nandi villages.
