Nairobi City County converted 8 under-bridge spaces in Eastlands into SafeSport Basketball Courts on September 14, 2025—lit, fenced, and monitored courts with shock-absorbent surfaces. When concrete hides courts, we reclaim them, said youth coach Zawadi Mwaura. Over 1,800 players train weekly; crime dropped 47% in surrounding zones. Safaricom sponsors coaching and tournaments. Plans for 30 courts by 2027 are confirmed.
