Murang’a County is ramping up efforts to improve service delivery and economic development through a range of flagship programmes aimed at enhancing healthcare, education, agriculture, and urban infrastructure. Under the leadership of Governor Dr. Irungu Kangata and Deputy Governor Stephen Munania, the county has introduced projects including KangataCare Social Health Scheme, the Smart City Programme, Telemedicine, Inua Mkulima agricultural subsidies, and water connectivity initiatives. These initiatives are designed to make services more accessible and efficient for residents while promoting sustainable development.

The county has also emphasized community engagement and youth empowerment, rolling out programs such as the Murang’a Youth Service, Bodaboda Sector Support, and the UJI feeding programme for Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) learners. Through automation and digital platforms, residents can now access various services online, from land applications and business licensing to healthcare information and scholarship resources. The administration highlights these efforts as part of a broader strategy to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficient governance across all sectors.

Looking ahead, Murang’a County is set to host its 1st Investment Conference on June 13, 2025, at Thika Greens Golf Resort, aimed at attracting investors and promoting the county’s economic potential. With ongoing infrastructure projects, including road upgrades, market modernisation, and solarization, officials hope to enhance living standards, boost local trade, and create employment opportunities. County leaders stress that the combined impact of these initiatives will foster inclusive growth, improve service delivery, and strengthen the county’s position as a model of development in the Central region.
