Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has stated that the campaign team for President William Ruto’s re-election effort is focusing on expanding his margin of victory for the 2027 elections.
Mudavadi indicated that while President Ruto’s re-election is not a concern for him, the priority is to increase the voter margin by which Ruto will triumph over his rivals.
‘As we concentrate the discussion on President Ruto’s victory, we should shift the conversation beyond a second term. The discussion Kenyans should be engaging in concerns the margin of victory between President Ruto as our candidate and the other contenders,’ stated Mudavadi.
Mudavadi mentioned that the team leading Ruto’s campaign will ensure Kenyans participate in large numbers to provide Ruto with a decisive victory.
He confirmed that he will actively rally support for Ruto’s 2027 re-election campaign.
‘We seek a resounding and decisive victory for President Ruto. A victory that is irrefutable, one that speaks once and speaks loudly and clearly,’ stated Mudavadi.
‘We want those votes, honorable president, that he receives by such a significant margin that no one has standing to challenge the results, even those contemplating going to court to stop the outcome,’ Mudavadi added.
He was speaking in Kilgoris, Narok County, where he led a fundraiser for local churches during a thanksgiving service organized by Principal Secretary for Tourism John Ololtuaa.
He stressed the importance of peace in the nation prior to the 2027 elections, noting that Kenyans should recognize the economic significance of peace.
He expressed sorrow over the current situation in the Middle East and other regions experiencing conflicts.
‘As Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, I have witnessed firsthand during my travels around the world.
The suffering other nations are experiencing due to the absence of peace is devastating,’ Mudavadi warned.
Mudavadi explained that these conflicts have caused extensive loss of life and mass displacement, negatively affecting vital infrastructure including airports.
‘When we prioritize development while neglecting peace, the infrastructure becomes meaningless.
I urge Kenyans to have faith in President Ruto’s government and to maintain peace always. Peace is the foundation for a better life,’ noted the Prime CS.
Mudavadi disclosed that Kenya’s economy continues to stabilize under President Ruto’s leadership, citing an African Union survey indicating that 29 African countries have seen their currencies depreciate against major world currencies and are now experiencing economic recovery.
‘I am pleased to report that Kenya is not among those 29 countries, which means we are secure within the current economic framework, thanks to President Ruto’s leadership and his administration,’ stated Mudavadi.
‘When President Ruto assumed office, we faced challenges in the energy sector, particularly high oil prices that caused the cost of living to surge, impacting our manufacturing and transportation sectors. However, following Kenya’s government-to-government oil deal, we now experience a consistent fuel supply at reasonably fair market prices,’ Mudavadi explained.
Mudavadi highlighted that agriculture has also stabilized due to favorable fertilizer prices that have enabled farmers to achieve higher yields after the government shifted from subsidizing consumption to subsidizing production.
The Prime CS also echoed President Ruto’s statements at the event regarding accountability within government and decisively addressing cartels in the energy, health, agriculture, and other sectors that bolster the national economy.
