Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge has entered a tech partnership with Kenyan wearable-tech startup Ecorun. The collaboration will see Kipchoge test and refine Ecorun’s next-generation biometric sleeve, which uses non-invasive sensors to monitor muscle fatigue, running economy, and hydration levels in real-time during training. Kipchoge stated the partnership aims to develop affordable, world-class sports science for every Kenyan runner. Data collected will be used to tailor training regimens and prevent injury. Analysts see this as a significant shift, where a global sports icon is backing local innovation over established international brands, potentially putting Kenya on the map for sports technology manufacturing.
