Makueni County Launches Climate Change Stakeholders Coalition

Makueni County has officially established a Climate Change Stakeholders Coalition to coordinate climate change adaptation efforts across the county.

The coalition brings together:

Government entities

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)

Community-based organizations (CBOs)

Academia

Environmental advocates

Its main goal is to facilitate collaboration among these groups and develop a comprehensive strategy for climate change adaptation in the county.

The inaugural event was held in Wote and presided over by Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili, with notable attendees including:

County Executive Committee Member Sonia Nzilani

Chief Officer Japheth Kiminza

Members of the Makueni Climate Change Fund Management Board

This initiative underscores Makueni County’s commitment to unified and coordinated action against climate change challenges.
