Makueni County Assembly Committees Approve Nominees
On February 29, 2024, two committees at the Makueni County Assembly vetted 13 nominees for various county government positions.
Lands and Environment Committee (chaired by MCA Felix Mateso) vetted four individuals—Salome Ndunge, Linet Kyengo, Jefferson Laki, and John Nzioka—for the Makueni County Climate Change Steering Committee, focusing on resource mobilization and policy issues. Additionally, eight nominees were vetted for positions in the Wote Municipal and Emali-Sultan Hamud Municipal Boards: Benjamin Masungwa, Romeo Ndeveni, Benjamin Wambua Mutua, Daniel Kisyanga, Paul Maundu Mutua, Everlin Mulewa Kimuli, Angela Kiamba, and Engineer Patrick Mutua Mutuku.
Health Committee (chaired by MCA Jackson Mbalu) vetted Dr. Harvey Mulei Mbithi for the newly created position of Chief Officer in Health Human Resource Management and Administration. Dr. Mbithi advocated for modernizing healthcare services through automation to enhance monitoring, transparency, and reduce drug theft, citing the benefits of computerized systems in the private sector.
The nominees will await final approval after the committees submit their reports to the full County Assembly.
