Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has rejected those advocating for a single term in office, expressing strong belief that the current inclusive administration will earn a second term in the 2027 elections.
Addressing residents in Suba South on Friday, the Deputy President claimed that the government’s performance in nationwide development has successfully united support across traditional political boundaries.
Kindiki dismissed the opposition’s talk of limiting terms to one as “pointless theoretical discussion,” highlighting instead what he called the actual delivery of services under the comprehensive government structure.
“This inclusive administration has delivered concrete and measurable advantages to all citizens nationwide,” Kindiki remarked. “Single-term is just an idea; inclusivity is the reality that serves all Kenyans.”
The Deputy President stressed that the administration’s main objective is balanced development, ensuring no community is left behind. He pointed out that bringing together various political groupsparticularly the partnership with ODM leadershas moved the nation’s political environment toward cooperation rather than conflict.
Kindiki specifically commended Nyanza leaders for avoiding attempts to return the region to opposition politics. He indicated that through joining the government, the area is now able to benefit from its loyalty to the nation instead of staying marginalized.
During his visit, the Deputy President inspected several major projects intended to boost the local economy. Key investments by the government in the region include:
Nyandiwa Fish Landing Site: A 150 million-shilling facility being built to offer fishermen advanced cold-storage and processing amenities.
Mfangano Island Ring Road: A 3.3 billion-shilling initiative. Kindiki announced that President Ruto has instructed Treasury CS John Mbadi to guarantee continuous funding for its completion.
Market Infrastructure: The 350 million-shilling Homa Bay Town Fish Market is finished, with 22 additional modern markets currently being constructed throughout the county.
Housing and Energy: Progressing affordable housing programs and extended rural electricity projects.
Kindiki used the occasion to praise National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, a Suba South native, for his contribution to the country’s financial oversight. He attributed Mbadi with the effective allocation of funds that has enabled these billion-shilling ventures to advance from plans to actual implementation.
“The individual responsible for managing and authorizing Kenya’s finances is a son of Suba South,” Kindiki informed the gathering, connecting the region’s significant Cabinet position directly to the development growth witnessed in Homa Bay.
The Deputy President concluded by reaffirming that the “inclusive” approach is not merely a temporary political alliance, but a strategic method to guarantee every Kenyan, irrespective of their political connections, shares in the country’s economic advancement.
