Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Tuesday inspected the progress of key road projects in Embu and Kirinyaga counties, reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving rural connectivity and supporting local economies. In Mbeere South Constituency, Embu County, Kindiki toured the ongoing works on the Gachoka-Gachuriri Road, where he assessed construction standards and urged contractors to fast-track completion while maintaining quality. He stated that the project will facilitate movement of people and goods and open up the area for trade and investment. Kindiki later visited Mwea Constituency in Kirinyaga County to inspect the PI-Murinduko-Ndindiruko-Marurumo-Gategi-Gatuiri-White Rose Road. He was accompanied by Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire and Senator Alexander Mundigi among other senior officials. He noted that upgrading the road network will enhance access to markets for farmers and improve service delivery in the region. Kindiki emphasized that the government remains focused on infrastructure development as a key driver of economic growth at the grassroots.
