Kilifi North Hosts Security Consultative Meeting to Strengthen Community Safety

On 1st September 2025, Kilifi North held a Security Consultative Meeting at Uwanja wa Water, bringing together government officials, security personnel, and community members to address local safety concerns. The session was led by Hon. Owen Baya, MP for Kilifi North, alongside Sub-County Police Commander ASP Stanley Tonui. Key participants included the Officer-in-Charge of Kilifi Prisons, Mr. Wasike; Kilifi Police Station OCS CI Joseph Mbella; and Kilifi Traffic Base Commander CI Gilson Githinji. The forum provided a platform to discuss collaborative measures for improving security in the region.

During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening partnerships between boda boda operators and law enforcement in combating crime, encouraging public adherence to traffic and liquor regulations, and fostering trust between residents and security agencies. Emphasis was placed on collective responsibility, with officials noting that sustainable community safety requires cooperation between authorities and citizens.
